The day that Tom Hanks, the actor, announced that He had contracted the Coronavirus, I went as usual to the IMGUR social network, to see what content had gone viral, and thus be able to use it in my strategies
to attract attention in other social networks. That day, taking advantage of
the rise of the hashtag and the news from Tom Hanks, I published in a new
Twitter account (since I have around 20), a Flipbook that I saw in Imgur and it
caught my attention. At Imgur, you can directly download any image or video and
upload it again without causing problems.
The
thing is that I, when uploading the video to my Twitter profile, in a few hours
already had 1,700 visits and that same day in the afternoon I received a
notification, from the original creator of the video with the following
message:
I was very surprised to see that the most
important news network in the world had included in primetime a
publication of my Twitter account, also including the name of my profile in the
upper right part of the screenBut, the sad thing was, that my account was suspended
that same night, due to the complaint of the use without permission of its
owner.
Two things we must learn from this lesson. The
first, is that we must always give credit to the original creator of any content, and that way we will not get into any kind of trouble. And the second, is that people with a
little creativity, the right tools and the right information can attract the
attention of thousands of people and use that to their advantage to attract
potential customers for a product or service they want to promote.
The original creator of the video, although he
is very talented, the truth was he did not know how to take advantage of it, and
as a consequence, someone without as much artistic talent as me, but with the
appropriate marketing tools, was able to attract the attention of the CNN
Newscast, something that he himself could not do! I decided to do this
article, because I don´t want that happens to you as it happened me. Please, make
sure to give credit to those who deserve it! and also to offer you the free tools
